Sue Roche
Photography

I use mainly colour film, yet some images are recorded that have very few colours appearing almost monochromatic. My photographs are taken on 35mm film. From the negative I handprint limited edition enlargements, often cropping the image to a wide landscape, for which I choose distinctive mounts and frames. I have undertaken a number of commissions and have received Distinctions from the City & Guilds and the Royal Photographic Society. My work has sold in galleries and exhibitions in London and the South East, and has been in print in the local and national press.

I specialize in capturing alternative views of landscapes and architecture. Good light is a real inspiration, and a new environment encourages the search of something unusual.

I have recently entered the arena of digital photography, capturing the best possible image initially so that minimal manipulation is required. The data is then printed at a lab onto professional photographic paper, very similar to the paper used in the darkroom.
